In significant tribute to George Kreider, Eugene S. Clark '18 of Springfield, Ill., has sent a memorial gift to the College. Eugene says of George, "He came from a fine family. He left a fine family. He will be sorely missed by the alumni of our area."
Elliot and Evelyn Brill say, "The broadcast of the Dartmouth-Cornell game was the most enjoyable one ever. The Hanover dogs sure got into the act." BettyWilson is planning another trip to Hawaii to visit her daughter and family. She says, "Peggy and my granddaughter gave me a wonderful party last year by taking me to Kawai for a weekend. I loved it."
Polly Shedd tells me that her son Donald H. Shedd '47 and his wife Edith have purchased 47 acres in Monroe, Ga. They manufacture signs of wood. "They do not sell signs from a catalog. Each one is customized for you. They are specialists in interpretative communication."
Tog Upham enjoys singing in the choir of the Maiden Baptist church. Of a recent evening choir practice he says, "I was in great voice. I hit an F above C which is very high for a bass. It was at the end of an anthem" and I held it for three long measures. I was in an ascending mood all day."

Betty Dock recently let me examine George's MEM BOOK. It is an eloquent example of the pains we all took to save the things that mattered to us then—and still do matter. If your MEM BOOK is available I wish to see it put, as it should be, in the archives of Baker Memorial Library someday. The COSMOS CLUB has always interested me. I have collected some dope, including facts and fiction, from several members. If you care to contribute to this enterprise, I should be grateful because of the 14 members of 1916 who belonged to the club. Should we revive it? You will raise your right hand and give your answer.
Roger Evans reports that the Class of 1916 now numbers 102 grads, and 39 non-grads. We have 157 deceased grads, and 121 deceased non-grads. For further details please see the Balmacaan.
I wish you would write me a letter, but if you haven't I will extend your time. That reminds me that over at the barber shop Saturday night, when Big Bert Twitchell inadvertently trod on Peewee Pulsifer's toe, Peewee hopped up and squealed, "Sir, I demand an apology in two seconds flat." After Bert had apologized, meek as a pup, somebody asked Peewee what his next step would have been if Bert hadn't apologized. "I would have extended his time," replied Peewee. Just shows that you never can tell what is going to happen at our barber shop Saturday night. I should be awful pleased to hear about the barber shop over your way.
