Every now and then, when we hear from one of our classmates, the content brings back memories of our early undergraduate days. This is true of Finney Houghton of Las Vegas. Finney did not complete the entire four years at Dartmouth and for some reason it appears that we have not had a resume of his activities for some time. However, following our latest reunion, Finney sent a card requesting a print of our class picture of that date. While the message was short, it indicated that he has everything in Las Vegas except control of the casino, including an interest in animals, from sheep dogs to elk. So, if any of you '17ers travel to that vacation spot, we would enjoy a report of his current activities.

While in the South we hope to check on the doings of the many '17ers who use Florida for a winter home or, in some instances, have made it a permanent location. Among the latter is our past chairman Bill Eaton. Through the courtesy of his sister Mrs. Hurlen, we learn that Bill is resting comfortably in a nursing home near Clearwater. We hope to see him when we are in the area.

Somewhat belatedly we have learned of the passing of Russ Willis. We hope to have more details from the family, but thus far there is no news from his home in Sterling, Ill. If any of you men from the Chicago district know of this location and could help your secretary obtain information on our classmate, it would indeed be appreciated.

In this connection, our reliable Vic Smith is in touch with Baker Library where approximately 20 books will be inscribed in memory of our classmates who have died during the past year, and placed with the curator of the Library. This not only shows the varied interests of the class members, but assures that each family has a suitable and enduring memorial. Appreciative responses have been received by Vic for maintaining this noteworthy custom.

James Young '23 of Barre, secretary of the Dartmouth Club of Central Vermont, is making plans for a dinner meeting soon. These gatherings provide an opportunity to get together for those who live near one another but seldom meet on any other occasion. We have been most fortunate in having as our speakers representatives of the College from the President to the Deans of the Graduate Schools. Incidentally, we note that if you are a member of a Dartmouth Club, you can take advantage of charter tours to foreign countries at reduced rates. I believe that Slats andHelen Baxter took one of these trips which covered the Scandinavian countries and enjoyed the tour, as well as the accompanying Dartmouth men and girls, immensely. If you are lucky perhaps you'll have a chance to go to London on a similar excursion and listen to President Kemeny who will be there on May 18.

At the moment, we are in close touch with the hospital where classmate Al Edgerton is confined This flu bug has been most devastating during th winter months here, but we hope that by the next report Al will have fully recovered and be back at work as usual in his Northfield bank.

Word has been received from E. Searles Morton of the passing of his wife Kathryn at the age of 69. This information came from Mrs. Mott Browj (Frances). The Browns and the Mortons had been friends for many years in Columbus, Ohio, where Searles has been in the legal profession. We must also report with regret the death of Mrs. B.O. Gerrish, the former Kay Sawyer, of Arlington Mass.

In Fort Lauderdale we were happy to see Bob and Anita Scott and his sister Mrs. Afton Brooks An avid golfer, Bob is lucky enough to live close to the Coral Reef Country Club.
