As of June, those of us traveling through Rangeley, Me., can enjoy Peter Holland's hospitality at the Sky and Lake Lodge. Peter is leaving his post as chairman of the English Department at the Woodstock Country Day School, South Woodstock, Vt., to join members of his family operating this inn. Peter would be glad to send anyone a. brochure describing this new venture if they would write to him at the Lodge. We wish him well in this shift from a teaching to a business career. Before Woodstock, Peter taught from 1962 to 1969 at Kimball Union Academy. One advantage of his teaching positions has been their close proximity to Hanover, which he has been able to enjoy several times a week since graduation.
Bob and Barbara Vincent are enjoying the country life in a house they built recently in Bedford Hills, N. Y. They have three children: Page, 7; Caroline, 5; and Robby, 3. Following Dartmouth, Bob attended Columbia University Law School, Class of 1965. He has just become a member of the law firm of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, 919 Third Avenue, New York. Bob writes: "I have not been up to Hanover for more than a year, but am looking forward to getting up there for a football game next fall." We hope that Bob and all our other classmates within a day's drive of Hanover will be at the games in Hanover this year. The home football weekends are a great chance both to enjoy the College and renew friendships at minireunions!
From Windermere, Fla., comes good news that Mike and Carol Murphy are the happy parents of a son, Brian Stroud, their first child, born February 7. Mike served in the Army after Dartmouth, then earned an MBA at the Harvard Business School, Class of 1966. He is now general manager of the Drum Service Company of Florida. His firm reconditions steel drums and represents Inland Steel in that part of the country. When we called, Mike was down at his dock in the warm sunshine looking after his boat, which he enjoys a great deal since they live on a lake near Orlando. We didn't feel too badly about dragging him up to the house to the telephone because outside our window it was still snowing hard with eight inches already on the ground. (Incidentally, our own first child, David Tilton McIndoe, arrived on February 12, so we can fully appreciate Mike and Carol's joy at having a son.)
Dave Steinberg and his wife, Sharon, have moved to Brookline, Mass. He has been appointed to the Hematology Section, Department of Internal Medicine, Lahey Clinic. Dave attended the Harvard Medical School, served his internship at Beth Israel Hospital, Boston, and his residency at Beth Israel and the University of California Medical Center, San Francisco. Before moving to Boston, he was a Fellow in Hematology at Mount Sinai Hospital, New York.
Dave mentioned that Mike Kurtz is presently finishing a Fellowship in Gastroenterology at Mount Sinai. Ira Gorman is in Claremont, N. H. pursuing a career in social work. Art Provisor is a pediatrician in Oakland, Calif. Thanks, Dave, for updating us on the whereabouts of these three classmates. Hopefully, Mike, Ira and Art will follow up with letters letting us know in greater detail what they are doing. A number of classmates have written to us recently and their letters have been greatly appreciated.
Please remember to give something to the Alumni Fund.
