Alumni Fund Award
JUNE 1972

The Class of 1921 and Head Agent BillAlley were honored with the 1971 Alumni Fund Committee Trophy before the general meeting of all Class Officers in Hanover May 6. Presented by Robinson Bosworth Jr. '37, the trophy was accompanied by this citation:

The Alumni Fund Committee Award is presented to the class and Head Agent achieving the best all-round performance and for outstanding and significant contributions to the annual Alumni Fund.

It is especially appropriate that we honor the Class of 1921 and Head Agent Bill Alley since Mr. Alley has provided 14 years of distinguished leadership as '21 Head Agent, climaxing this by setting a new 50-year reunion record of more than $73,000 and leading all classes in 1971 in the major gift category with 22 men giving at the $1,000 and up level. Moreover, under Bill Alley's dynamic and highly-personalized leadership the Class of 1921 captured five Green Derby wins during his term as Head Agent. In addition, during the same period Bill Alley served a three-year term as the Class Agents' representative to the Dartmouth Alumni Council and as an important member of the Alumni Fund Committee.

It is a great privilege then to salute the outstanding Class of 1921 and their outstanding Head Agent, William M. Alley, with the Alumni Fund Committee Award for the 1971 Campaign.
