Pete Blodgett was featured in a New YorkTimes on "Wood, Field and Stream" last November after the writer had been deer hunting in New Hampshire. He apparently felt that the high point of the trip, rather than hunting, was eating, and that the outstanding gourmet feature was a dinner of black ducks and bluebills which Pete had shot the winter before on Tisbury Pond, Martha's Vineyard.
In the fine food and drink field Bob Misch continues, his activity as a wine expert with a new book published by Doubleday, Quick Guide toSpirits, and articles in Home Beautiful for October and Gentlemen's Quarterly for November. Bob also was the subject of a feature story in the Manitowoc (Wis.) Herald-Times when he visited his daughter and son-in-law there for several days last fall.
Henry Crawford, surgeon and physician, reports from Rochester, N. Y., that he is partially retired—working eight hours a day instead of 16.
Bob and Baba Cubbins are in Tequesta, Fla., again this winter after a summer in their Ossining, N. Y., home. Bob says they both had their eyes inspected and pronounced O.K. by Dr. FudgeWheeler.
Win and Peg Prescott are likewise in Florida for the winter, at Delray Beach. Their northern summer place is Ossipee, N. H.
Blair Gilbert missed the Ivy League champions in action last fall because he was hospitalized nine weeks following an operation. Most recent report is of satisfactory recovery at home in Waterford, N. Y.
Steve Chase writes from New Braunfels, Texas, "Nothing much new this year. Ann is more involved than ever in her Arabian horses and I spend my time helping her, training a bird dog, and trying to improve my golf game to the financially solvent stage."
Although Speedy Fleet lives on Old Pasture Road in Cutchogue, N. Y., he has not yet really been put out to pasture as he continues working part time as chairman of the board of directors of the North Fork Bank and Trust Company.
Phil O'Connell continues his golf conquests. Last year he won the New Jersey state seniors' title in May with a 74 and in the fall took the Montclair Golf Club Seniors' by nine shots with a 151 total for 36 holes. His handicap is now six and he is trying to improve that by playing in Florida this winter.
Bob Sweetser is also a resident of New Jersey. He takes care of two packing plants in Vineland for the U. S. Department of Agriculture.
Zeke Carswell of Newburgh, N. Y., has been retired for over seven years but keeps busy with three days a week for golf and the other three or four as secretary of the Kiwanis Club, member of the zoning board of appeals, treasurer of the Masonic Lodge, lots of church work, and, for a couple of years, director of the United Fund.
Jibber Gutterman reports being in fine shape in 1972 following open heart surgery at the Cleveland Clinic in 1971. Home is in New York City but each winter includes a visit to Jamaica, W. 1., and to Florida.
Les Frenkel, also a New Yorker, had a fiveweek trip in the fall to London, Florence, Capri, and Rome. Left the last-named city in the middle of a handlers' strike and had to carry five bags six blocks to board the 747 for home.
Frank Osgood lives in Jamesburg, N. J., and spends the summers on Lake Winnepesaukee in New Hampshire. Says "Our children and grandchildren and friends come visit us. I'm feeling quite well now, play golf most every day and even made two holes-in-one this summer. I won't say anything about my total score."
Several of our classmates have died in recent months, as reported in the obituary pages. ClifHill attended the memorial service for Tibby Marshals at St. James Church in New York City on December 7 and Nate Bugbee, Bill Sleigh, and Lyn White were present at the funeral service of Charlie Haywood at St. Stephens Episcopal Church in Lynn on December 8.
