At last month's meeting the Trustees also authorized Phase II of plant changes required by coeducation and year-round operation. Included in this second step are completion of the women's physical education addition to Alumni Gymnasium and the conversion of more double rooms into single dormitory accommodations. The Board approved the building of six new tennis courts and the resurfacing of four existing courts that are in poor condition. In connection with student residence halls, it also voted funds for additional storage space for students and for more fire escapes, as required by the recently revised code adopted by state authorities.
To finance Phase 11, the Trustees allotted $250,000, to be added to a similar amount not used from the funds authorized last year for Phase I.
