It's been cold, but it hasn't been anything like our Freshman Fathers' Weekend ten years ago. Inside Davis Rink it was about 15° and outside it was minus 30°. No cars started, everyone ran everywhere, and the only satisfaction was that we were the coldest spot in the United States that day (take that, International Falls).
Well, as we said, it hasn't been that cold, so the fact that little news is coming in from the Class of 1966 must be attributed to a massive and collective striving for success and happiness. Fine. And when you achieve that goal, or any part thereof, spread it around.
Top billing this month goes to Tom Steinmetz, not because Tom is in the Class of 1974 at Harvard Business School, with George Reese sharing his cases in the same section, but because Tom and Jane Ann Beaton were married in December in Ottawa. Jane graduated from Alma College and is putting Tom through the B School by working as a market analyst in the college textbook department of Houghton Mifflin. So if you've got a heavy concept for a new text ...
You've got a friend in Lima, Peru. John Keane is in the Economic Section of the U.S. Embassy there. John and Graciela see Pete Cleaves, another Liman, often, and expect a flying visit from Rob Trafford soon.
After you've paid your class dues, which entitle you to this magazine, and made your Alumni Fund contribution, which entitles you to some self-satisfaction, drop us a card with one new fact, any fact. That will entitle you to bold face type and some vicarious contact with many people once very close.
