Perry W. Gilbert '34 director of the Mote Marine Laboratory on Siesta Key, Sarasota, was the featured speaker at the January 11 luncheon of the Dartmouth Club of Sarasota at the Holiday Inn at Lido Beach.

This meeting attracted 73 members and wives to hear a splendid talk on basic research in marine biology. Dr. Gilbert in addition to his duties at the Mote Laboratory also serves as Professor of Neurobiology and Behavior at Cornell.

Judging from the extended question period, our Sarasotans are interested and concerned with the behavior of sharks as well as the development of an answer to the "red tide" menace.
