APRIL 1973 JOHN D. BURKE, FRANK E. SULLIVAN JR.

Here it is April already and Fabian and Wilma are still at odds over whether or not they should have a double ring ceremony (Wilma has only one finger).

Along those same lines, I have some great news. I'm sure you all remember my September statement that Bill Price was engaged and my clever October retraction of that same informa- tion. Well, the pressure got to him, folks. Bill is engaged, for real this time. I received word from Jim McGraw (B.U. Law) today and, barring a retraction next month, you can all rest assured that Bill is planning to kiss bachelorhood goodbye.

It has also come to my attention that GaryDicovitsky has been involved in some rather shady goings on in Hanover. Our man in the Admissions Office has been saving his dictation for a couple of secretaries at one of the Big Green professional schools. The source of this information is, as all of my sources are, totally unreliable-Roger

Ekirch has returned from January in Jamaica to his graduate studies in history at Johns Hopkins University. Congratulations to Lauren H. Cummings who is now engaged to Catherine nne Kehne. It appears that the young lass is a graduate of Transyvania University (really) so we all wish our classmate good luck (wooden stake?).

Bob Winterbottom informs me that Upper Volta (he's in the Peace Corps) is suffering from environmental deterioration due to economic and agricultural misuse. He expressed the thought that the U.S. may have to regard third world needs on a higher priority level if they are to improve their plight. This, of course opens the debate as to whether economic advancement is worth the loss of culture which accompanies, it. Jeff Stimson is doing some geologic mapping in Guatemala and reports that none of the animals speak English (his work keeps him away from humanity). Cliarlie Breen is working as an FDA inspector in San Francisco, and he tells me that the number of mice/rats in coffee warehouses has risen sharply - looks like I'm back to No Doz (West Coast turnarounds?).

Christ Brewster (Virginia Law) wrote to say that he had gotten together with Tim McKeever (George Washington Law) and Charlie Shockey (Georgetown Law) to view Nixon's inauguration - they must have wanted to see each other pretty badly!! Steve Kiely informs me that he is getting married to Lynn Gussie (Smith '73) on June 9. At the moment he's working for Wells Fargo in Boston where he is riding shotgun for Dale Robertson.

Pat Mattimore, Steve Himmelman, DougVaughn, Rich Poirot, Bill Emmons, Andy Cote, and Steve Kessier. You might wonder why their names are mentioned. Only they know for sure.

Joel Reader is a Ph.D. candidate in French at Yale and informs me that David Mitchell is at Thayer School and that lan Duncanson is studying in Freiburg, Germany, on a Fulbright Scholarship. Skip Staples, now working for Uncle Sam, just became engaged to Melissa Suzanne McCoy (Smith '73). I wonder if his Uncle will join him on his honeymoon?

And now, direct from our military reporter DonFennessey comes news from Big Green Navy men (seasick). Don is at Chase Field, Texas, not Hanover, and reports that southern Texas is "too damn flat and there aren't any alumni clubs within 200 miles. I wouldn't send a self-abusing Tasmanian snake charmer here for punishment."Happy to hear that Don was enjoying himself, I moved on to his account of other 72's.

Gary Buker and Dick Donahue are in training to become NFO's (?). Thanks, Don. Does that mean Non-Flying Object, or what? Bob Baird is going frogman on us at UDT school while NealeDuffett and Paul Malloy man communication centers on various members of our nation's fleet (did I write that?). John Deßegt has returned from a stint in Indochina as battery officer on a destroyer which, from all reports, is soon destined to become 27 Toyotas.

I'm going to give you a break and sign off for now except for one reminder. Norm Cohen reminds the members of our class that those who signed up for the grad school advisory program may be hearing from undergrads soon, so get ready to bare your souls.

So, from the boys in 3A and their pet garbage disposal. Ghort, Happy Spring.
