A sure sign that our class is getting older is our finally making it into the old West Stands for a home football game. The occasion was Dartmouth versus Princeton which, as you already know, was a disaster for our side. Seeing how poorly the Big Green played that day makes it understandable that everyone so far this season, except Brown, has flattened us. Wonder if coeducation has had any effect on the prowess of our football players? Remember at happened to Samson when Delilah came on the scene.
We spotted a few of our classmates among the fans watching the game. Lauren Mason and his wife were there. They had a short drive over from their weekend retreat in Vermont. During the week they are at their other home in New Jersey. Hop Holmberg, Jack Reno, and their wives represented at least part of the contingent up from Massachusetts. Paul Heimer came in from Lancaster, Pennsylvania. We thought for a moment that Robert Redford, fresh from mak- ing the movie Jeremiah Johnson, had stopped in Hanover, but it turned out to be our own HankEberhardt sporting long hair and a full beard.
Congratulations to Phil Kerce on becoming secretary of the Dartmouth Club of Phoenix.
We realize this is the era of miniturization. We have mini-skirts, mini-computers, and now the New England Patriots are rolling up yardage with Mini-Mac Herron. However, we'd prefer not to make this a mini-column. We'd like to keep all of you posted on the doings and whereabouts of our classmates with a column packed with news. The catch is that to do it, WE NEED YOU or your ever loving spouse to send us some news. How about it, as soon as you've finished reading this column, put a sheet of paper in the typewriter or take pen in hand and write us something. Your desperate, newshungry secretary will be most appreciative (so will your classmates).
Last, our treasurer says please don't forget to pay class dues, which are $7 for 1974-75.
