Crawford Hinman speaking: "Left Hanover in 1968. worked at a variety of jobs in Boston for a year, enlisted in Marine Corps for two years. Returned to Dartmouth in June of 1971 ... The Dartmouth of '71-72 was a new Dartmouth to me - women, no parietals, flagging interest in fraternities, a spirit of involvement, a student body that had experienced strikes and rations, the Dartmouth Plan, etc. People seemed to be studying harder. Whether this was because I was studying harder I don't know. Changes: I was married to Kathleen Ryan of Winchester, Mass., on Dec. 30, 1972. In September 1973 I started a two-year MBA program at Univ. of Washington, here in Seattle."

John Langley droppings: "Living some sort of Dartmouth myth - high on a hill in an old chicken coop, wood stove, wild wind up from the valley, writing drivel when I can. Leave to pick up garbage and edit at newspaper, run canoe trip business. Work a lot to avoid steady full-time gig. Where the hell is Steve Barrett now that I need a calm, steady influence in life? Address: RD 1 Box 120, Lebanon, N.J. 08833. Write for free feathers, gift-wrapped box of old chicken shit. High in phosphates, stench."

"I married' Barbara Singer, Vassar '72, September 1972. Graduated from Boston University School of Law in June '73. Currently we live in Alexandria, Va. I am working now as Legal Assistant to Senator Stuart Symington of Missouri and will receive an appointment as Assistant United States Attorney for the District of Columbia in February 1974," wrote Jeffrey Demerath sometime before February 1974.

Here's what happened to W. Bruce Rohrer since 1967: "June '67 - left Dartmouth; Nov. '67 - joined Navy, spent 1½ years learning Vietnamese language, then 2½ years as inter- preter in S.E. Asia aboard ship in Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam; Nov. '71 - left Navy, took a vacation while readjusting to U.S.; March 72 - Returned to Dartmouth for spring term; June '72 - went to Cornell, studied Thai language under Intensive Asian Language Program, made dean's list!; July '73 - spent summer in Thailand with teacher's family; Sept. '73 - transferred to So. Illinois University to study advanced Vietnamese, tuition-free to Illinois Vets, expect to graduate in 1975, then get Master's in "English as a Foreign Language," eventually teach in Thailand or Vietnam."

News of Leland J. Badger: "Since Oct. 1973 I have been working in the Office of General Counsel to Secretary of the Air Force at the Pentagon, as deputy to the Asst. General Counsel for International Affairs. The work is extremely interesting - drafting and interpreting international agreements, interpreting rather convoluted statutes, writing letters of opinion to federal agencies and senior air staff officers, and representing the Air Force in meetings with senior Dept. of Defense officials. I'm basically practicing international public law, but do feel I am influencing policy decisions in various respects. I'll be here for at least two years and live in an antediluvian mansion on Embassy Row; if any '70s pass through D.C., give me a ring."

"I decided before I ever left Dartmouth that I would not contribute any money to any Dartmouth cause as long as ROTC was unwelcome at the College. If the school feels it can get along without the 1/3 of a million dollars a year in scholarship money ROTC provided, then it can get along without any contributions from me. I could not have afforded to go to Dartmouth if it had not been for ROTC." Sincerely, David G.Mullen Jr.
