A Christmas luncheon featuring undergraduates and their parents as guests of the Tucson Club finished off the year December 27 at the Doubletree Inn. Walker Foard '77 and his parents James E. and Peggy Foard; Lee Maxon'75 and his father Don Maxon: and Mark G.Holt '77 represented our undergraduate division.
All of Dartmouth will sorely feel the loss of Del Worthington '26 who died unexpectedly December 15 of complications following surgery the previous week. The Dartmouth Club of Tucson is sending a memorial gift to Dartmouth and expresses its sympathy to Mrs. Wilma Worthington and the rest of the family.
Club President Evan Lasky '63 reported that some success has been realized in the initial funding of a project to have a 50-inch telescope at Kitt Peak, Ariz. Dartmouth, the University of Michigan, and Massachusetts Institute of Technology formed a consortium to effect this and the new building for the equipment is under construction now. This will make available a Dartmouth special course in Astronomy and 12 or so students will headquarter in Tucson for several months in the intensive effort. We welcome these Dartmouth men and hope to share part of the excitement of Dartmouth in Tucson.
