"Stanford is the Dartmouth of the East," claimed one Big Greener in a letter, so I venstatement's veracity. One sunny day I was leisurely jogging on the Stanford track and behind me a heavy-breathing runner yelled "track." Moving aside, I watched the compact figure of Chris Baldwin motor by. During a few laps at a slower pace, Chris informed me that Stanford Business School had not yet got him down, but that his social life is as active as that of a hibernated bear. With no "honies" in sight, Chris channels his latent energies into athletics, and has established himself as Stanford's squash champion. It is not hard to understand why he spends so much time in the courts - the squash facility has a coed locker room.

Also at Stanford Biz is Bob Whelan, who is working beaverishly and plans to be in New York this summer with White, Weld and Co. He leaves a little time to see Rosalyn "Pineapple" Loomis who is in San Francisco working in the personnel department of Dean Whitter and Co.

Mark Haley wrote that he is now in Los Angeles selling candy for his father's company. The job will probably be temporary if the responses are favorable from business and law schools. Until' January Mark lived in Seattle with Jon Dale who was working in the bowels of a large Seattle architectural firm copying blueprints. Jon is presently located in his hometown of Shrewsbury, Mass., where he is the assistant town manager. Jon plans to enter business school next January. Reports have filtered in that Brian Pritchard is alive and well in Vershire, Vt. He apparently is helping remodel his father's farmhouse and was last spotted when he stuck his head out the door, saw his shadow, and quickly withdrew.

Ken Melikian checked in via post from USC Law School where he has had a hectic first year. Ken has yet to find another Dartmouthite at the law school except a professor, George Lefcoe '59. Also on the law school beat is Craig White who has matriculated in Bob Blackman territory (U. of Illinois).

Congratulations are due two classmates. RickClarke" a Norwich resident this year, has been awarded a Reynolds Scholarship to study sculpture in London at the St. Martin's School of Art or the Central School of Art and Design. Studying in an intensive Japanese language program, Bob Grondine plans to go to Japan on a Cornell program this summer. He received a National Defense Foreign Language Fellowship.

Returning often to the Hanoverian womb, Steve Allison and I have decided that Coper-Terrestrial Physics holds true - the world revolves around the green. However, Steve has decided to bite the bullet and move to the San Francisco office of Aetna Insurance Company.

George Vorys returned to Hanover in late March from Ohio State Business School with a particular ex-exchange student from Wheaton. George avows he is working hard and hopes to switch over to the law school after finishing his MBA.

Last but not least, John Haulenbeek is back at Dartmouth for his final term, hopefully. The indomitable "Beek" worked for his father in New Jersey since June and did not savor his bout with the real world. He found he was getting up for work at the same time he was used to going to bed. Quizzed about what it was like to be back amongst the ivy, Beek tersely responded, "Life here is like a soap opera." As of April 1 the vulturous Beek had yet to make serious moves on any unsuspecting coeds. He says it takes time to get warmed up when you've been away.

lam proud to report that the Class of '74 won the Boston Alumni Club's Participation Award by having the best representation at the April 1 Annual Dinner. Eighteen of us made our debut at the gala event. Preliminary reports from the Alumni Fund show that our participation was nowhere record-breaking; let's try to pick up the slack. Keep the faith.
