Lindley Richard Dean, professor emeritus of classical languages at Denison University, Ohio, died of a heart attack at his home, 116 South Plum St., Granville, Ohio, on May 20.

Walter John Lane of Gilmanton, N.H., died in a Concord, N.H., hospital on June 19 after a short illness.

The 67th reunion of 1909 was held in Hanover, June 14-16, in connection with the College's seventh post-50th reunion under ideal weather conditions. Al Bates, Francis Bird, Hal Clark, Reg Colley, and Bert French were present. The distaff side was represented by Eunice Bull, Harriet Clark, Molly Colley, Beryl Sheldon, and Sally Gale, Reg's sister. The 10 of us were present as a group at all meals and scheduled events and enjoyed three days of companionship.

The 1909 participation in the 1976 Alumni Fund showed the unwavering support of the widows and families of deceased members.

George H. Hinckley since his sojourn in the hospital last winter is hampered by unsteady legs, though he still enjoys tending his flower garden.

Francis H. Bird spent a long summer vacation with his daughter Harriet (Mrs. Orval R. Grigsby) in Orinda, Cal.

Stanley W. Leighton spent the summer at his Seaconset Island home in Mashpee, Mass., and as usual enjoyed boating with his grandchildren.

Bert French had his granddaughter Phyllis G. Oliver and 2 great-grandchildren from the Lemoore Naval Air Station in California for a visit during August.

Harold and Harriet Clark celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary at home, Fiddler's Green, Sagamore Beach, Mass., on October 3.

Eight of the 20 members of 1909 celebrate birthdays in October and the early part of November, as follows: Leon B. Farley, 93 on October 13; Hollis M. Bartlett, 90 on October 18; Russell Cowles, 89 on October 7; Harold S. Clark, 89 on October 16; A. Gordon Weinz, 89 on October 24; Ernest C. Whitney and AlbertW. Bates, both 89 on November 7; JamesHitchcock, November 12.
