Larry Bankart represented our Class at the class officers' meeting in May and has written a full report of the sessions and dinners. Larry and Miriam spent the summer at their farm in Norwich, Vt., as usual. Bert Kent writes that his nephew, Francis Russell, has written a new book. The Country Journal, and dedicated it to Bert. Bert is very proud of this recognition. KayAllen, Bucky's widow, has written that she is well and active.

Answering my inquiry in the April issue of ALUMNI MAGAZINE, Howard Smith wrote that he hears from Ralph Baldwin several times a year. Ralph's last letter said he was sitting at his dining room table waiting for his wife to serve the strawberry shortcake and looking out the window at their beautiful flower garden bathed in the Texas sunshine.

A letter from Priscilla F. (Lang) Tuttle, one of nine daughters of Ben Lang, states that her mother died in November 1974 and asks us to remove her from the mailing list. I received a letter from The Jewish Home for the Aged in Portland, Me., saying that John Thomes is in good health, sits up in a chair daily, that his mind is clear and he smokes furiously. John appreciates his classmates' keeping in touch.

The college just received a letter from Bowdoin College advising of the death on Sept. 12, 1968, of Harold Marsh, who was with us his freshman year, before he transferred to Bowdoin.

Our dedicated class treasurer, Leon Kendall, died June 8 at his home in Clearwater, Fla. A neighbor found him next morning lying on the floor in front of his television set, the victim of a heart attack. I appointed Art Lord class treasurer to succeed Leon.

Bill Taylor, who was 89 on June 15, drove his car alone from Delray Beach, Fla., to Brewster, Mass., where he spent the summer. Otto's widow, Ethel, and several nephews and nieces live close by.

Art Lord spent a couple days with us in Minneapolis while visiting his daughter Laura in Madison, Wis. He returned to Florida and enjoyed a visit from his daughter Eleanor. Then he visited his sister in Northampton, Mass., and he will be in Hanover until Labor Day. Art gets around.

Andy Scarlett has left Clearwater to live with his daughter Marjorie, R.R.1, South Windham, Me. 04082.

I received a sad note from Ossie Shenstone saying that his wife Gladys passed away April 21 at age 83. They had been married 62 years.

Helen Lowell, Jim's widow, wrote from Portland, Me., where she spent the summer. While there she talked to Andy Scarlett on the phone several times. She also visited John Thomes at the rest home and found him in good spirits and very glad to see her.

It was a great shock to hear from Dennis Dinan, editor of ALUMNI MAGAZINE, of Joan Hier's sudden death. Joan was a wonderful and helpful collaborator.

Karen had a nice letter from Louis Langdell's daughter, Marie Louise Melvin, expressing her pleasure in reading Art Lord's Tenner Topics.

Pineo Jackson wrote Horace Chadbourne on August 7; the envelope was returned marked "Deceased." I had also written Chad about the same time, but my letter has not been returned nor any confirmation of Chad's death received up to press time.
