When summoned to the door at approximately 11 o'clock on Halloween night, President Kemeny offered a brimming bowl of assorted candies and the observation that this was a bad year for trick-or-treating. At that late hour, there was so much candy left at 1 Webster Avenue that trick-or-treaters came away with at least two pockets bulging with Hershey's bars, No Jellies, and M&Ms.
