The late fall Alumni Council meeting in Hanover was attended by Pete Haffenreffer,Herb Talbot, and Larry Leavitt. The Haffenreffers had a dinner party at the Hanover Inn that weekend for the local '25ers.

For the first time we are eligible for the annual Post 50-Year Reunion. The seventh of these events is scheduled for June 14-16 and the new Tuck Mall dormitory will serve as reunion headquarters with some rooms available at The Lodge, adjacent to the Hanover Inn.

The Dean of the College, Ralph N. Manuel '58, will be the main speaker at the reunion dinner. If you have not already received full details from Hanover by the time you read this you will probably have them in the mail soon.

From the time of our 50th in June to the turn of the year we have published in this Magazine the obituaries of a dozen classmates. Some had gone some time ago and were reported to the College belatedly, and some were with us in June. To the widows and families of all we express our regrets and sincere sympathy.

A note to Pudge Wheeler inquiring about his move from New York City to Southbury, Conn., brought this pleasant and informative reply:

"I'm not sure whether I really tried to retire, anyway, I didn't make it. The main thing was to get out of New York because I could find no way to cut down and maintain an office on Park Avenue. So when I found the right man to take over, we moved up here, last Christmas, and I have a nice little office where I am working four mornings a week. (Note - Pudge is an ophthalmologist.)

"After commuting to the country, weekends, for about 40 years, it is great to have everything in one place. Heritage Village is a large group of condominiums where you don't have to do a thing outside, if you don't want to, although we do fuss with the garden right around our house. There is everything to do and always someone with time to do it with you. It's great! There are a lot of Dartmouth men here but I have not found anyone from '25. Ross Pearl has been up looking more distinguished than ever.

"I'm afraid we are not generating much news - just enjoying the simple life with congenial neighbors; except for one trip to Bermuda we have stuck pretty close to home."

The secretary is grateful to Pudge for a good picture of the solution one classmate has found to the change from full to partial activity. Who else is willing to tell us what he is doing, even though he may not think it is news? Will be glad to hear from you.
