American University Communications Professor Lewis W. Wolfson '55 is the author of A Report on the State of the Presidential PressConference, published by the National News Council. Based on research and interviews with 20 White House correspondents, the report finds that "whether it is a good-hearted Ford or a buttoned-up Nixon, ..." the presidential press conference "still is more cat and mouse than a press-government duel at High Noon."
