Two of the outstanding June Reunion events will be the Class of 1930 panels on Politics in 1976, and Forty-five Years in the Arts and the Humanistic Scholarships. These to be held on Tuesday at 8:30 p.m. and Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. And much, much more, so be there. A participant in the politics panel will be Herm Schneebeli. Although not seeking reelection, Herm is currently the ranking Republican member of the House Ways and Means Committee.
Win Hatch, retired educator, botantist, historian, and president of the McLean, Va., chapter of AARP, is deeply interested in Primmit (River) Legacy, a program of community investment, receiving support from the Fairfax County Park Authority and the National Park Service. Win observes that "the area is so rich in history, you trip over it. Still largely unresearched, it touches local and national history from Indian days, settlement by the prominent Adams family, and the Civil War encampments."
Hub Christman, Rocky River, Ohio. "Retired from private practice last July but still teach medical students one afternoon a week, make rounds with a hospital house staff, and give occasional talks to medical and lay groups." Shaw Cole has recently been honored as the water utility man of the year by the New Jersey Section of the American Water Works Association. And we should cite him for what must be close to a record, 22 grandchildren.
Fred Tangeman, from out where all the addresses end in "O," like Rancho Bernado, Campillo Drive, San Diego, writes: "We have about 15 Dartmouth fellows here on the ranch and have get-togethers at the Inn about once a month. Our two daughters and four grandchildren live here and between baby sitting and keeping things under control, Esther and I are busy. Woodworking, pottery making, jewelry design, are mixed with golf, parties, and short trips, so there's no time for arthritis or other ailments."
Barbara Lichter from Mexico. "We had all three girls home for the holidays for the first time in three years. Jesse and I and perhaps one or two daughters will be at the 45th. Looking forward to seeing you." Agnes and Jack Herrick are alternating their living between Cincinnati and Brooksville, Fla. "While the Florida weather has been below par this year, with cool nights, the days are warm, and I only wish my golf game were not so above par. I have started to play again after an absence of 15 years. Quit the game in 1960 to devote time to boating on the Ohio River. This might have been an escape from having been involved in the manufacture of McGregor clubs for 34-years."
Margaret and Kelsea Moore have the best of two worlds, Waikiki Drive, Sun City, and Long Island, Winnipesaukee. Kelsea went down to Tucson for the Dartmouth-MIT-University of Michigan dedication of the McGraw-Hill Observatory at BCitts Peak.
Please support Ev Low and Lee Sturman in their Reunion Giving Program. At mid-January, gifts and pledges amounted to $120,000, or 60 per cent of our goal.
