Not long ago Molly and I had an opportunity to attend the Horizons program put on several times a year by the College to bring alumni and interested friends up-to-date on happenings in and around the campus. Fritz Hier '44, its director, runs a fast moving and most interesting program, and one can't help but be impressed by the breadth and depth of all that is offered the students these days by this institution. The best part of the program is the fairly constant exposure to the students. They are all first class kids and most have the common complaint that there are just not enough hours in the day to take, advantage of all the courses and activities offered by the College. The thing that pleases one the most is witnessing their intense loyalty for the College and its traditions too. This is true of the gals as well as the guys and should warm the hearts of many of you loyal classmates who observed a radically different kind of attitude a few years ago.

I had a nice note from David Loring, secretary of the Class of '6B, passing on some news about our classmate Ken Fulton. Ken who is now president of the Food Service Div. and a V.P. of General Foods Corp., held forth at Columbia Business School along with some associates on the subject of "institutional marketing." Dave reports it was a first class and informative presentation. With excellence the word always gets around.

I talked with Frank Ettari the other day down at his home in Florida. He reported a near record golf game the day before but blew it while digging for coal with his sand wedge on the last couple of holes. Tough life mixing business with pleasure. Gus Gillaugh reports all's well in Dayton with his insurance business. He had just gotten back from a trip to Palm Springs for a meeting and a "little" golf. He said he had just left Dick Scharrer, local barrister, asleep on the couch at the Dayton Bicycle Club after a good lunch together. Gimp was just getting rested up for an upcoming vacation in Florida.

Our good prexy Jack Whitman and wife Jean returned to Hanover last weekend to see the last of a great series of hockey games played this year in the new Thompson arena. Although the team lost to Brown in overtime they couldn't have picked a more exciting game to watch. Coach Crowe has done a great job in his first year and I predict many years ahead of top flight, exciting hockey in Hanover.
