Our reunion was such a great experience, I can't resist the temptation to ramble on about it. I'm sure there are many tales of "mini-reunions" within the reunion. I couldn't help but notice how many of my navy ROTC cohorts made it back. Several are still on active duty, including Colonel Burt Quist on the Marine Corps Commandant's staff at the Naval Annex, Captain RobinJones with the Naval Investigative Service at the Washington Navy Yard, and Captain John Eisold, Medical Corps, at Bethesda Naval Hospital. Other navy ROTC types sighted at the reunion included Parker Beverage, who, like yours truly, had the good sense to retire from the naval reserve last year, DukeEllis, TomEnright, Paul Rizzi, Don Becker, Pete Boorum, Ford Cashion, Dave Loring, and Rich du Moulin. Let's hear from other navy ROTC hands. It might make an interesting article. While we're at it, how about news of any '68s with army or air force ROTC experience in their deep dark pasts.

Other reunion observations from the registration desk: is there any connection between the "Dartmouth Dinosaur" shirt seen in tent and the fact that "Jurassic Park" was playing at the Nugget? Do Hanover beer trucks always come equipped with golden retrievers? The tents were down and gone by mid-afternoon on Sunday. It was like we had never been there. Sam Hawken hasn't changed a bit. Neither has Gerry Bell. Tim Neiley ruined my day by informing me he had netted a couple of nice rainbow trout at my favorite fishing hole in Vermont. He said he released them, but there were no witnesses.

You've arrived when your name appears among the celebrity birthdays in the daily paper. Congratulations, Bob Reich. (If the truth be known, Bob's was the only name I recognized on June 24.) Lew Joel's book, Every Employee's Guide to the Law, is now out in paperback and has been a book-of-the- month selection. Congratulations to Navy Captain Arnie Resnicoff, who has orders to Groton, Conn., as chaplain for the Navy Submarine Base. Arnie has just put on his captain's stripes as a result of a well-deserved promotion.

Richard Livingstone reports he had to miss the reunion due to a commitment to present a paper in Bath, England. After Thayer School Richard received an M.S. in nuclear engineering from Stanford University and a Ph.D. in geology from the University of Maryland. Having worked at the Environmental Protection Agency and the National Institute of Standards and Technology, Richard is presently with the Federal Highway Administration doing research and development on the preservation of infrastructure. From the looks of the infrastructure around here, we need you, Richard.

Let me know of any other "mini-reunions" which took place during the 25th Reunion, or anything else newsworthy.

A real mini-reunion is in the works for October 30 in Hanover. See you there.
