George R. Lyle 'BO, of Anchorage, Alaska, current 1925 scholar, had a very high B+ average in his sophomore year, according to a report sent us by the Office of Financial Aid of the College. It continues, "George has selected Earth Sciences as his major and plans to go on to law school after graduating from Dart- mouth. His extracurricular activities are as varied as the Dartmouth Symphony Orchestra and the Ledyard Canoe Club, and he is also very active in the ad hoc student government study group. George also works part-time in the Dining Hall each term to help pay for his education."

Ken and Harle Montgomery spent several days in Hanover in late June to attend the ceremonies and seminars marking the 50th anniversary of the Baker Library. They were also overseeing and planning the renovation, redecoration and complete refurnishing of Montgomery House on Occum Pond. A swarm of workmen were readying it for dedication in mid-September. It will be a beautiful home for distinguished visiting educators and an important addition to the college property.

Curt and Marian Abel drove down from northern Vermont for lunch at the Outing Club House with the Montgomerys and enjoyed a tour of the house and gardens.

George and Fran Zahm made a tour of Scotland in July after a week of fishing. Heavy rains swelled their stream and diminished their catch.

Larry Leavitt was honored by Vermont Academy in Saxtons River, Vt., when he was given the Condict Cup at the annual senior banquet at the close of the school year. The cup, a man-of-the-year award, was established almost 30 years ago when Mrs. Condict gave the beautiful silver cup which came to her through the General Wainwright family. Larry served as headmaster at V.A. for 25 years, and he and Dot have maintained an active interest in and close relationship with the school since retirement.

Congratualtions to Paul Brundage, who was married to Laurice Griffin May 21 in the Rossmoor Community Church in Jamesburg, N.J. They will continue to live at Rossmoor, where they both enjoy its many activities.

The Hawley Tafts earlier in the year sold their apartment in Wilmette, Ill., and now make their legal residence in Linville, N.C., which has been their summer home since 1971. From November to April they expect again to be at the Hillsboro Club in Pompano Beach, Fla. Hawley still plays golf in the 80's and sometimes does even better.

Harry Clarke of Palm Beach is another Floridian who gets to the North Carolina mountains in the summer. His spot is Tranquility Acres at Franklin.
