Class-of '57 dinners - relatively small gatherings of members of the Great Class and their wives - have been happening across the country. Organized by Chuck Winslow and George Southwick, dinners have been held in Boston, New York, Chicago, and San Francisco. The tone has been very social in nature, although the opportunity has been seized to discuss Dartmouth today and our Class's part in the future of the College. Reports indicate that these informal, relatively small, primarily social get-togethers have been enjoyed by all, and more will be planned in the future. Plan on attending when the opportunity presents itself.

Scott Paper Co. has announced that Philip E.Lippincott, a vice president and group executive in charge of Scott's packaged products division, has been elected to Scott's board of directors.

Christopher S. Wren has written your secretary to advise that he wound up his assignment in the Soviet Union, where he had spent four years, and is now located in the Middle East, where he has become the Cairo bureau chief for the New York Times - from the frying pan into the fire.

Chris and family are living in an apartment right on the Nile in the suburb of Giza directly across the river from Cairo, Egypt. They arrived in Egypt in October, just in time to catch President Anwar El Sadat's peace initiative, and Chris covered Sadat's November speech inside the Israeli Knesset. Since then, he has been working primarily in Egypt, but is now on a swing through Jordon, Syria, and Lebanon trying to gauge the mood of the other confrontation states towards both the Israeli and the Sadat initiative. Makes life in the States seem rather mundane!

With Spring finally arrived and summer definitely on the way, the Bixbys will be looking forward to revisiting the Hanover plain later this month during Class Officers Weekend, a time when officers of all classes have an opportunity to be rejuvenated by the Dartmouth atmosphere and to renew acquaintanceships and compare notes.
