Dorothy Sandoe, beloved wife of our president, Nick, was killed in an automobile accident on September 11 while she and Nick were driving from New York to Acworth, N.H. Nick was seriously injured but is making good progress.

The Sandoes had recently sold their house in Acworth and were eagerly looking forward to buying a house in Sun City Center, Fla. Nick plans to stay with his son Bob in Boston while he recuperates.

A memorial service was held in Pelham Manor, N.Y., at which Mose Robinson gave the eulogy. This will appear in a future issue of the "Smoke Signal." In lieu of flowers, it was suggested that gifts be made to the Dartmouth library.

Dot had lived in Pelham Manor for almost 40 years and was very active in community affairs. She is survived by her husband; two sons, N. M. SandoeJr. '45 and Robert '46; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

The class will greatly miss Dot. She had tremendous energy and enthusiasm and was involved in almost every class activity. We all loved her.

Hariett Munro telephoned recently. She planned to take a Greek Island cruise in September. Florence Stecher does not plan a cruise this year. She has recently moved to a new apartment and says she wants to "get used to it."

The fail reunion provided a good time for those who could attend. They were the Robinsons, the McCrillises, the Max Huntoons, the Martins, the Hinds, the Averys, Ora Huntoon, and Kitty Larmon. John Williams, who had made the arrangements, had a virus and could not attend. Max Norton was also under the weather.

Doc Hodgkins says he is down to nine holes of golf but otherwise is all right. Bob Paisley is about the same. A letter from Pete Grey points out an error in my reminiscences, but I will not tell you what it was because at my age I admit to no errors. Bob Lewis had a safe and uneventful trip back to Aiken, S.C., after reunion. He added that with Blackman at Cornell we may expect trouble. A letter from Jack Clark says he had dinner one night with the Stu Russells.Bri Greeley is arranging a reunion of his fraternity delegation in Florida in April. Nock Wallis has been in the hospital for four weeks. He is out now and doing well.
