To move or not to move? That was the question. We decided it should be done while we were in good health and sound in mind. And after all, it was only a short distance — 20 miles west of Phoenix. A relatively simple operation. But it wasn't. Why? Because everything had to be boxed and labeled. Despite careful markings, the "Bill's Study" box contained nothing more than a lot of useless paraphernalia not very helpful to writing class notes, proving the point that orderly packing is a prerequisite to orderly unpacking. But given time, diligence, and patience, we'll eventually be back on an even keel, and the class notes process will roll along as usual. Birthday cards will go out to our octogenarians, and our news gathering (with your help, I hope) will continue.

Now, about our move to the new location in Sun City. We are at 17426 North 99th Drive, Pistol Court, Sun City, Ariz. 83575, which is a garden apartment. Very nice — or it will be when we are settled. The garden is small but quite beautiful and easy to care for, unlike our former large spread of lawns, shrubs, trees, and pool. Here we are a pleasant bike ride to the post office in one direction and to a Valley National Bank in the other for the usual banking services and the lodgment of our few valuables safely, such things as Lou Rukeyser discusses every Friday night over the PBS television network, regardless of where he is.

But enough of the Carters. A note came some time ago from Gro Plowman in Portland, Me. - a discouraging bit was in it that said he was not sanguine about returning for our 60th in June 1980. Says his hearing, impaired years ago in World War I during work in a shipyard, has over the years slowly worsened, so he avoids large group meetings whenever possible. We are sorry, Gro, but perhaps we can come up with a program that will minimize the big meetings and maximize small tete-a-tete types, such as we had at Loon Mountain in our postreunion meetings in the past. I haven't yet broached this subject to Sherm, but after he reads these notes he may get in touch with me. Loon Mountain is a beautiful spot amid nature and highly conducive to intimate conversations, good fun, and fine food.

A note from Bud Weymouth before his Florida trip provides this brief account from the regional Valley News: the Vermont lawmakers have passed a bill allowing the Town of Norwich to put up a marker honoring the late Allen R. Foley, a former Vermont legislator and Vermont's leading humorist. We 1920s need no markers lest we forget but it is nice to have the state and the town show tangible evidence of remembrance to our unforgettable classmate.

Meanwhile have a good summer. Be generous as circumstances warrant to Dartmouth in her 1979 search for funds. Keep BudWeymouth or me informed on what you are doing, where you are going, or where you have been. We'll feed it into the press in Hanover, and gladly. Adios, amigos. Hasta la vista.
