Thanks to Duze Lounsberry we have had news from Madelon Ferguson in Tulsa "Just trying to survive through two months of temperatures of 100 tb 108 degrees daily. Any outdoor activity begins at 5:00 a.m. and ends at 7:30 a.m. Then Old Sol drives us inside." Expect to go up to Hitchcock Clinic in September for a checkup. Boynton "Dick"Merrill writes, "Am now 89 years old. Live in a fine retirement center with my wife Virginia. Am in fair health. Letters and reading are my activities when I'm not 'resting.' Dartmouth seems long ago and far away, but Wah Who Wah still!" Kathryn Potter advises that Herb has been moved to another nursing home. It is smaller and more homelike. The address is Rest Haven, 2729 Porter, El Paso, Tex. 79930. From A. E. "Jack" Johnson — "Regret we couldn't make the 65th, but our youngest grandson was married in June. We just had to be there. We are both well. Good luck and good health to every member of the class, male and female." Margaret Hitchcock visited son David Jr. in Tel Aviv in May. He is chief public affairs officer at the embassy there. Mrs. Arthur Tower from Meriden, Conn., writes that in the month before her 80th birthday she could play first violin in the Schumann Quintet with Mr. and Mrs. Harrison (D.A.C.), violinist and violist; Dr. Hurd, cellist; and Professor Stockmayer at the latter's home. A great treat for the players. Helen Rose is now in a nursing home, the Chestnut Nursing Home in Passaic, N.J. Her large house in Montclair was just too much for her to handle. Dot Haubner had a busy Labor Day weekend, with grandsons and their wives plus six great-grandchildren, who all got together for a family picnic.
