Thanks to the hard work of Duze Lounsberry, Ruth Crance and Dot Haubner, 1915 is again the winner of the Green Derby. The 66th annual campaign ended well over the dollar goal and set a new alumni participation record of 63 per cent. The 1980 Fund exceeded its dollar goal by $164,414 and recorded a new contributor record both in total donors and alumni donors, while the 63 per cent participation keeps Dartmouth at the forefront of all colleges and universities in this category.
Eben Clough reported on his motor tour of New England with Marion Morhouse in July. They stopped in to see Gladys and Hal Davison in Woodsville, and then went on to Kennebunkport, where he attended the Clough Geological Society with about 50 kissing cousins in the Congregational Church. Next stop was Deer Isle, where they and the Lounsberrys drank a toast to Dartmouth and '15. Next day they called on Esther and RalphBrown, who were delighted to see them. All this was done in less than four days.
Dale Barker returned to Wakefield late in July for the baptism of great-grandson Christopher, which event attracted great- grandparents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins from far and near. Helen and Duze Lounsberry had the pleasure of the company of their grandson, Willy Hiram '76, who came up from Arlington, Va., to spend some time with them on Deer Isle. A note from Elliot Sharp: "Am still in fine health and play tennis and lawn bowl nearly every day, but no dancing. Hazel had a fall and fractured her hip, so it will be a while before we can dance. Sorry we were not able to attend reunion. Regards to the Class."
Herb Potter's wife writes that he has difficulty walking because of arthritis. They wanted to attend reunion but it was not possible. Rachel and Don Howe wanted to attend reunion in June but have not done much traveling this year. Their daughter, who lives in Deer- field, Mass., planned to visit them in July or August. George Ingalls writes that he was sorry to miss reunion and sends regards to all classmates.
With regret we report the death in February of Harold Pinkham, whose heart failed. An obituary will appear in the ALUMNI MAGAZINE. The Class extends sympathy to his wife Edith and son David.
