Even though spring is fast approaching, the news is still of winter happenings — with or without snow. Our class's representative at the Olympics was Don Page. He was chief of starts in the women's alpine, downhill, slalom, and giant slalom. Don is a resident of Albany, N.Y., and is a director of the eastern division of the United States Ski Patrol, in charge of 9,000 patrollers.
Dwight Smith has an interesting new occupation. He is founder, president, and general manager of Conway Scenic Railroad, a tourist attraction in Mount Washington Valley. (See the photograph on the next page.) After 26 years with Boston and Maine Railroad, Dwight says it is a pleasant change to now be at the helm of a railroad that posts a profit each year! Of Dwight and Gee's five children, three have Dartmouth affiliations. Son Dwight attended briefly with the class of '73, son Eric graduated with the class of '77, and daughter Laurel is soon to graduate with the class of '80.
Another career change: Steve Moore, after 32 years in banking, has retired as senior vice president of the Merchants Bank of Burlington and joined Garden Way Publishing Company as manager of special sales. He will concentrate on custom publishing for industry, premium and incentive publishing, and other sales and marketing activities related to industrial and professional use of books outside of the traditional bookstore and mail-order markets. Steve will continue to live in Charlotte, Vt.
And lastly, word was received that DanCarroll, president of Gould Inc., has been appointed to the board of directors of Wolverine World Wide Inc.
