A few notes about classmates and substantial news about the 15th reunion in June:
Dennis Bekemeyer has departed the splendor of the Pacific Northwest to establish a Washington, D.C., office for his Seattle law firm of Perkins, C oie, and Stone. The Bekemeyers are living in Bethesda, Md.
At Phillips Exeter Academy in New Hampshire, Jack Herney has been named director of admissions and scholarships, and Rick Mahoney is the new dean of students. Both will begin their duties on July 1.
Ed Keible still toils for Raychem in Palo Alto, but now has the increased responsibility of directing their Middle East operations. He spends 70 per cent of his time outside the States, but says that nothing will keep him from the 15th reunion on June 13-15.
Speaking of our joint 15th reunion with '64 and '66, 112 of our classmates have already indicated they will definitely be in attendance (along with 89 wives, 11 dates, and 150 children); another 75 '65s have said they're going to try - and that's an early count. In all, we expect a turnout of 1,200 Big Greeners, mates, and kids - a 15th reunion record.
The work of DeWitt Jones and DickDurrance will be featured at the Hopkins Center during our reunion weekend. Jones's film, The New England of Robert Frost, narrated live by the old "Whiffer" himself, will be shown on Saturday, June 14; Dick's photographs will be on display throughout the weekend.
If you haven't already sent in your reunion registration, get it into the mail today. This will not be a reunion you'll want to hear about; you'll want to have been there.
