Regretfully, we must lead off with a sad note: Thomas Cahill Davis Jr. died of cancer on January 15. His obituary was in last month's issue. If anyone cares to drop his widow Marilyn a note, I am sure it would be appreciated (107 North Greenbrier Street, Arlington, Va. 22203). Our sympathy goes out to Marilyn and all of his family and close friends who have been grieved by this unfortunate loss from our ranks.
Ron Butt wrote that he feels remorse in not keeping in closer touch with Dartmouth. To bring us up-to-date, he said that he married Barbara, his college girlfriend, in 1960. They have three sons, Peter (15), Jon (13), and Matt (11). Family activities include camping, mountain climbing, and downhill skiing. Ron spent three years in the Navy, followed by two years with the First National Bank of Boston. In 1964 he returned to the old homestead, Penacook, and took up the reins of the family clothing and shoe store. He was able to help the business grow significantly but grew restless and at age 40 decided to change careers. (Haven't we all thought about this idea over the past year?!) Ron sold his store in 1978 and joined Capitol Realty, a real estate agency that his wife had purchased two years earlier. Then in December 1978 the agency affiliated with Century 21 and became Century 21-Butt and Butt. He reports that their growth has remained strong and the agency is fast becoming the largest in central New Hampshire. Looking ahead, Ron plans to open an appraisal firm and to attend law school in order to add a legal dimension to their real estate activities. "The future is bright. When I hear people speak of the good old days, it makes my skin crawl. I want to move forward toward greater things. I urge you to get off at Exit 17 of Route I-93 when you are heading for Hanover sometime and stop at the office for a cup of the best coffee in New Hampshire."

An informative letter from Bob Worthington provided us with an update of family life at their Fort Sam Houston domicile. Bob works as director of the Fort Sam Houston Community Health Service as well as serving as an Army consultant and management consultant. His wife Anita works full time as executive administrator for Pace Picante Inc. and only has four more courses to complete for her M.B.A. degree at Trinity University in San Antonio. Bob and Anita have formed Worthington and Worthington Management Consultants, purchasing an older, four-unit apartment building last summer and rehabilitating it as a rental property. Flying remains Bob's hobby and business; he flew across the U.S. twice last year and traveled about 30,000 miles in his own airplane. The Worthingtons have three children Susan, now in her sophomore year at Tulane University in New Orelans; Julie, a junior in high school; and Karen, who is in sixth grade. Thanks for the low-down, Bob.
