I was about to employ my old "Let's see who has moved" trick for want of a lot of other news this month. But as I look at the stack of cards I got from Hanover, I see they are not all new addresses. For instance, I know Al Davis didn't just move to Holly Lane in Rye, N.Y., because his old neighbors told me he'd lived there quite a while when I bought their house. Yes, I'm going to be Al's new neighbor. (Fair warning in case you want to move, Al.)
Still, maybe you'd like to know where some of your classmates you haven't heard from are hiding out these days. Would you? Okay.
Don Campbell (that's Glendon M. Jr.) lives in Cincinnati and still, I presume, works for P&G. Doug Corderman lives in St. Louis, and John Doty lives in Miami Springs, Fla. Mack"Whitey" Dunlap lives in Denver and, I presume, is still with United Airlines. MarcelDurot is in beautiful, exotic Cliffside Park, N.J., and works out with the Dartmouth Club of Northern New Jersey. Deke Emmons is in South Burlington, Vt., and scarcely ever works out with anyone. John Fellingham is in Silver City, N.M., prospecting, we presume. TomFenton is still in London (England, not Ontario) and toils for CBS News. Whitey Fier is still in Scarsdale I don't think we could move him for anything. Bill Fischer is still in San Francisco, where he talks a good game of tennis at the Washington Square Bar. Burt Flounders is in Stamford. Don Gann is in Providence, R.I., where he practices medicine. Leslie Geller is in Paramus, N.J., where he can keep an eye on Durot in the D Club of the North. HarryGoldsmith well you all know where he lives.
Bob Griswold is in upstate New York in a place called Newark, which must be close to Rochester because he's a member of the Dart- mouth Club in that city. George Grosshans lives on the Rue de la Paix, but I'm sorry to say that this one is in Cincinnati. Art Judson is now and ever was a proper Philadelphian. Chuck Knudson is in Lakewood, Ohio, near Cleveland, I believe. Bob Koester is in Davenport, lowa, but I can't tell for the world, why. Guy Labalme is sunning himself in Tampa, Fla. Bart Lombardi is in Ridgefield, Conn., and his almost neighbor is Dick McDonough in Old Greenwich, Conn. Tom Papst is in Ft. Benning, Ga., and has something to do with the Army, though I can't tell you exactly what. I do know that Ray Pierce is a captain in the Navy and is stationed at the naval base in Philadelphia. Ed Rice is in North Stonington, Conn. Gene Rosenberg is in Oakland, Calif., and Angus Russell is still in Narbeth, Pa., figuring out how to get us all to leave our wealth to the College. Bev Walden is in Asbury, N.J., but belongs to the Dartmouth Club in Monmouth. And Ray Wikstrom is out in Lubbock, Tex., finding lots of new oil reserves, we hope.
And now, after two years, we hear once again from Tom Brennan, who was recently appointed to the board of visitors of the Missouri Military Academy his, as he puts it, "springboard to the Hanover Plain."
Next week I'm going to a big reception for President Kemeny, etc. I hope I'll get a lot of juicy gossip for next month's column while there. In case I don't, look forward to a lecture on temperance, continence, and a long (or seemingly so) life.
