It happened 1916 won the Green Derby in its group (classes of 1915-1919) in making 113 per cent of its quota in the 1981 Alumni Fund drive. Dan Dinsmoor and his assistant agents made a total of $20,458. How Burt Lowe would have gloried in this success something he strove for all through those years. As in the past, the class had a group of loyal widows, families, and fellow classmates who each year send memorials for 1916ers this year 60 memorial contributions were received.

Acclaim and honor were given to Dr. Donald S. Dock, son of our George Dock Jr., by the American Heart Association of Connecticut for his contributions in the field of cardiology.

A bequest of $2,000 came to Dartmouth from the estate of our classmate Cliff Herold.

With the above good news we now have to turn to sad news. Ralph H. "Heinie" George died in July. A memorial will be in a coming issue. The wife of our Jim Shanahan, Julia, died in July. The sympathy of the class has been expressed to the daughter of Ralph George and to our Jim Shanahan in the losses suffered.
