Just to get things started, I can report that Atwood Oceanics, Inc., a Houston, Texas-based international offshore drilling company, recently named our own James W. Ferguson to the posts of vice president, general counsel, and secretary. Jim has worked at Atwood since 1975 after graduating from the University of Texas Law School. In his new position he will be responsible for the legal insurance and corporate affairs of the company. Atwood operates a mixed fleet of mobile drilling rigs all around the world, so Jim will have a lot to do.

Jack Pansegrau has been named an investment officer in the urban investment department at Connecticut Mutual Life Insurance Company. Jack is in charge of Connecticut Mutual's joint ventures nationwide. His responsibilities include the overseeing of underwriting and the structure of new ventures, management of relations with partners in such ventures, and the sale and disposition of existing ventures. Jack has been at Connecticut Mutual since 1972, starting as an agent in the Orange Agency and joining the home office in Hartford in 1977. After his undergraduate degree, he stayed on for an M.B.A. in finance and accounting at Tuck and passed the C.P.A. exams in 1976.
