FOOTBALL is a family affair for several members of the Dartmouth team. There are two sets of brothers on this year's squad. Peter Lavery's 95-yard kickoff return for a touchdown spearheaded Dartmouth's 28-24 comeback victory over Brown last year. Lavery, a three-sport standout who has already earned two letters each in hockey and baseball, will be joined on the football team by his brother Patrick. The younger Lavery led the 1980 Pea Green squad with two interceptions and was also the team's leading punt returner. Rich Lena, who won the Doten Award last year as the Big Green's outstanding sophomore offensive player, rushed 33 times for 99 yards in 1980. Meanwhile, his brother Mike was playing for the 1980 freshman team and now is a varsity linebacker candidate.

Flanker Shaun Teevens finished second behind Dave Shula for pass receptions in 1980. Teevens, elected captain of the hockey team for the coming season, is the brother of former all-Ivy quarterback Buddy Teevens '79, who also played hockey as a collegian. Todd Markman is a senior center who lettered in 1980 and is a likely starter this season. His brother Al, a member of the class of 1975, played defensive end for the Big Green. Mark Clayton was an honorable mention all-New England defensive tackle last year. His father, John Clayton '5l, quarterbacked the 1950 Dartmouth team. And then there is Bob Dell Isola. The junior defensive tackle represents the third generation of his family to be involved in Dartmouth football. His grandfather John coached under Tuss McLaughry at Dartmouth before moving on to professional football. Bob's father, John Jr. '55, was a back-up quarterback.
