The class gathering for the September luncheon with the classes of 1918 and 1919 was what might be aptly termed a minimal minireunion for 1917. There were six of us present: Helen Brooks, Dot Howe, Virginia Bradley (the late Vic Smith's daughter), Phil Evans and his guest, and Alden Vaughan. It was a pleasant affair at the Tavern Room in the Inn, with about 20 each from the other two classes. Our group discussed brief plans for the upcoming 65th reunion in June. A letter about this will probably be in your hands before this news appears in the ALUMNI MAGAZINE. Please do make your participation in this affair a high priority in your plans for this coming summer.

It is worthy of note that while we were enjoying the activities under cover, it was a terribly poor day outside for the game with Princeton. Many who had planned to go to the game changed their minds and went home or to inside pleasures. Dartmouth did win the game, however, by a goodly score. It used to be said that Dartmouth could not beat Princeton except on a wet and muddy field. There was plenty of mud and torn-up turf on the gridiron. But that was not the whole story of our victory. The team played well and revealed some resourceful tactics in several hazy situations.

The class of 1917 suffered the loss of two more of our classmates in September: Searles Morton on September 1, and Ralph Wells on September 16. Obituaries should appear soon. We regret losing such men and extend our sympathies to their families.
