Until a few days ago, this column was doomed to be a Happy Thanksgiving wish and nothing more; but in the nick of time a few items dribbled in.

Mike Masin was elected a director of Trust Company of the West, a Los Angeles-based in- vestment management firm. Mike, who is based in the Washington, D.C., office of O'Melvery & Myers (whose home office is in Los Angeles), graduated from U.C.L.A. Law School after Dartmouth. He joined the firm in 1969 and opened its Washington office in 1976. Mike now resides in Great Falls, Va.

Our class president, Terry Lowd, was re- elected vice chairman of the board of trustees of the New Hampshire Hospital Association, of which he has been a member since 1978. Terry received his M.B.A. at Boston University and has served in administrative posts in hospitals in Pennsylvania and Salem, Mass., and he is currently director of New London, N.H., Hospital. In addition, Terry is an adjunct profes- sor of community medicine at Dartmouth Medical School and is a member of the National Hospital Association's Commission of Nursing.

Bob Morgan, who lives in St. Johnsbury, Vt., is receiving acclaim as a designer for con- temporary theater. Last spring, his work in costume design was featured in an exhibition at the University of San Diego.

Jef Fellows contributed an essay to a book recently published by the Phillips Exeter Academy Press, Respecting the Pupil: Essays onTeaching Able Students.

And, finally, I received word that Scott Cheyne was named vice president of Hill Holli- day, Connors, Cosmopulos Inc., one of New England's larger advertising agencies. Scott got his master's in public communications from Syracuse and was press secretary to the lieutenant governor of Massachusetts prior to joining his current firm.
