Our mini-reunion over the Cornell game weekend got off to a roaring start when President Jim Lynch called the executive committee meeting to order at Bob Kimball's home. The committee voted to increase the amount which may be spent by the College to purchase individual books under our memorial book program. It also voted to continue our annual contribution to the library for use in restoration and preservation of rare books, maps, and manuscripts in the Dartmouth collection. Pre-game festivities followed the meeting and were enjoyed by Harvey andDottie White, Jack Whitman, Ed and MollyScheu, Chip Coleman, Bill and Carroll Bowers, Jack and Anona Sayers, Gene and GailBokor, Jack and Grete Rankin, Connie Albrecht, Jack and Beth Ulrich, Bob Heussler,Bob and Dot Clifton, Al Holmes, Don andMargaret Furber, Nip Lewis, Robbie andJoan Smith, and Jim and Gene Von Rohr.
Bill and Roberta DeStefano were there as well. Bill has retired from his high school administrative responsibilities in Mansfield, Mass., and they are moving to Cape Cod.
Ray and Sue Dewees were here from Ireland for the game, visiting son Chris '86.
After the game classmates gathered again at Reg and Nancy Pierce's for cocktails and dinner. Joining in the festivities were NortVirgien, John Potter, and Len and NancyWilson. Bob and Jackie Kimball were accompanied by daughter Suzie, and Rosie Marlette was joined by daughter Cate '75 and her husband Rick Waddell '75, by son John Jr. 'B4, and by daughter Mary '87. It was also great to see old friends Andy and Betsy Carstensen '45, who were here with Rosie Marlette.
Walt and Mary Snickenberger had a Princeton-Dartmouth wedding in Winchendon, Mass., on November 5, when Princeton son Walt Jr. married Wendy Simila '76 of Dartmouth. Son Tom '75, who is completing his last year of residency at Northwestern Medical Center, was the best man. Walt and Mary will travel with the SMU football team to Tokyo this fall for its traditional game with the University of Houston. Some kind of football weekend! Bob Hailer writes that he is enjoying a second career in marketing with Commterm Inc. of Burlington, Mass., a leader in the new computerized voice messaging field. Bob says that the firm has an all-Dartmouth management team, led by president John Donnelly '57 and vice presidents Leo McKenna '56, Brian Follett '74, and Bob Reis, Tuck '65.
Dave Weld was not able to make it for the mini-reunion weekend, but his great fundraising efforts made him the recipient of the "Alumni Fund Chairman's Citation" for outstanding performance (as usual) as our head class agent during the 1983 campaign.
Bob Gerrish is president of the Palmer and Parker Company, a dealer in imported and domestic hardwoods and veneer, which just celebrated its 150 th year in business. Bob and Jane have lived in Needham, Mass., for 30 years and have traveled extensively in Europe, Africa, and South America on business. Son Peter is in business with Bob. Daughter Linda is a school teacher in Waltham.
Daniel O'Connor III, son of Dan and Carolyn O'Connor, was named a President's Scholar at St. Lawrence University in Canton, N.Y. Dan is a professor of religion at the school.
A note from Julian Farb reports that son Andrew Farb '79 received his M.D. from Cornell Medical College last May.
Glen Arthurs writes of his 1980 retirement to Stuart, Fla., where he enjoys golf and fishing and particularly welcomes his fishing trips to 31-Mile Lake in Quebec.
The Reverend George Razee of Bristol, Conn., has been scouring the hills of Vermont and New Hampshire looking for a small college for second son Tom, who is a direct descendant of Eleazar Wheelock on his mother's side, but he feels Dartmouth is "too large." George had the privilege of baptizing his first grandchild, Eric, in September.
