Records show one birthday to remember this month: H. Wilbert Closs was born March 13, 1876.
This weather reminds us of the winter in Hanover at the close of the Spanish American War. The snow fell about Thanksgiving time and remained until Easter. After it had fallen extra effort was made to preserve it by packing the snow down in the roadways with a huge cylindrical wooden roller drawn by three or four horses. Certainly was good sleighing.
On February 6, Miss Mary Davis, a sister of Waldo T. Davis, a classmate, died in her home at 98 West Street, Clinton, Mass. She taught English in the Clinton Schools for 48 years, retiring in 1961. Miss Davis was a graduate of Clinton High School, Fitchburg Normal School and received her degree at Boston University.
She was a member of the visiting committee for Home for Aged People, and Eastern Star Lodge of Masons. She was past President of the Women's Guild of the Church of the Good Shepherd. Miss Davis was also a member of the Clinton Hospital Guild, and an incorporator of the Clinton Savings Bank; a member of the National Retired Teachers Association, National Education Association, Massachusetts Teachers Association and a past President of the Teachers Association. She was also, a member of Clinton Chapter, Daughters of Union Veterans.
She leaves her brother, Waldo T. Davis, with whom she made her home. The Class extends its deepest sympathy to our Classmate.
