Jack Whitman writes of his permanent move from Wellesley to Hyannis on Cape Cod in early February. He and Natalie say things are going well, with little remorse about having left the suburbs of Boston. Jack received an invitation to attend the formal induction of Bob McDonald as judge in the municipal court of the San Diego, Calif., judicial district.

Whnile doing my stint recruiting students for Lebanon College at the Dartmouth Bookstore, it was fun to see Andy and Winni Gruninger browsing through the bookshelves, during a recent long-weekend visit to see son Andy '85 play basketball in Hanover.

Paul Allen has been honored by Walter Dorwin Teague Associates for his 40 years of sen ice with this industrial design firm. Paul is its corporate secretary and has served in a wide variety of positions with the company, including as head of administration services, personnel director, treasurer, and head of client relations. W.D.T.A. designs products, packaging, interiors, and transportation conveyances and systems. In earlier years, Paul was a member of the firm's engineering group which worked on quality assurance methods for complex Navy missile systems, involving procedures for inspecting and classifying defects that were ultimately adopted for use by all of the armed forces.

Dave Weld sent word of the recent wedding of Dr. James Clark Pert, son of Jim and Trudy Pert of Glenmont, N.Y. Jim's roommate John Barker also attended the happy affair.

Congratulations are in order for Andy Thompson, who is president-elect of the medical staff of the distinguished Rush-Presbyteri-an-St. Luke's Medical Center in Chicago.

Kudos also are appropriate for Eugene and Nancy Cafiero. Gene is the new president and chief executive officer of the Keene Corporation in New York City. He has just completed six years of service as a member of the Board of Overseers of Tuck School. Son Clay is an '83.

Don and Mary Lou Fitzsimmons have retired from the Navy chaplain life and live in Hingham, Mass. He is doing some pastoral work and is going back to school at Quincy Community College in math and logic, and she's taking courses in BASIC and tax law.

Everyone has been shocked to learn that Robert Edward Albrecht died suddenly from a heart attack on March 15 in West Redding, Conn. After an early career with W.T. Grant, Bob established his own successful company, Robert E. Albrecht Inc. of Greenwich, Conn., manufacturers representatives, which he headed for more than 20 years. He was a past president of the Weston Field Club and active as a national umpire for the U.S. Lawn Tennis Association. He also was president and commissioner of the Fairfield Paddle Tennis League. Bob lettered in track, basketball, and football at Dartmouth and was named an all-American in football. He was a member of Dragon, Sigma Chi, and Green Key. Bob always was active in Dartmouth and '46 affairs. Connie and Bob were regulars at all Hanover gatherings. Our heartfelt sympathy goes to his wife Connie, son John of St. Martinsville, La., daughter Barbara Ritch of Norwalk, Conn., and to his mother Mae Albrecht of St. Petersburg, Fla., and sister Mae Harnet Connors, also of St. Petersburg.

Bob's close friend and admirer Don Goss '53 delivered a magnificent eulogy at Bob's funeral service. He also has made arrangements with the College to establish an appropriate memorial. Should you care to participate, checks may be sent to Dartmouth College (Blunt Alumni Center) noting on the front its designation for the "Bob Albrecht Memorial."

Please keep in touch. Best regards.
