A fair amount of time has now passed since our reunion, and I have yet to get my network of spies and correspondents up to speed. Hopefully, by the time you receive this issue of the Alumni Magazine in the mail, I will have been deluged with a pile of mail and hours of telephone calls. In any event, don't be surprised if I ring your phone for information on the whereabouts and wanderings of recluse classmates.

With the summer almost behind us, I have received news of the activities of several sailors in our class. Peter Castle, who happens to have been my roommate, spent a good part of July forcing his boat up the coast of New England to Maine from Connecticut. Seems that Peter always did like to wait until the last minute just as in his government courses, Peter spent 24 hours per day sailing to get the boat to the slip on time. He was assisted by Ruth Pratt and her husband Tom '72 who also apparently enjoy high seas punishment.

I recently had a lengthy conversation with Rick Black and his wife Anne. They have been keeping tabs on several of us despite their hectic pace. Rich is presently assisting the (now not-so-new) president of Travelers Insurance Company to become acclimated to that company's business. Rick and Anne are also avid sailors and have been spending most of the summer cruising along New England, primarily around Block Island and Martha's Vineyard. I'm sure any of you will be able to see them on any given weekend, because Rick doesn't want the boat to go to waste. He also tells me that Frank and MissyWilich have moved to Lake Forest, I11., as of sometime this spring. Frank is apparently taking on more responsibility in his company and has moved back to the home office where he can keep an eye on things.

I have learned that Mark Green stein has moved into my backyard and will be practicing his trade at Hartford Hospital, I believe. His work involves pediatrics and genetics; and if that isn't quite right, I hope that Mark will contact me.

In the higher education department, word comes to me that Jack Foley has put his Dartmouth training to good use, and he has been appointed business manager of Clark University in Worcester, Mass. Jack will have responsibility for all university purchasing, risk management, and contracting services. He will also help to develop an effective strategy for further automation of the campus and improvement of the school's telecommunications system. He is also enrolled in Clark's M.B.A. program.

In a final note, Judith O'Leary has moved to San Francisco. I have finally placed one of my spies on the West Coast. After working with me in Hartford, Judy couldn't take it anymore and decided to test her high finance skills in the land of sunshine.

The mailbag was somewhat skimpy this time, but I look forward to beefing it up next time.
