We hear from Stu Palmer: "It just occurred to me that I haven't kept in touch with the class as I should have. Still teaching at Stamford H.S., and with advanced sections and quite a bit of tutorial work in English, hope to go on for a while yet. My wife is a counselor at Pippowan, the other school. Our son Bart hopes to get his degree from Dartmouth this June; an English major. Plans now to do graduate work in England; married to Ruth Hanchett (Colby Jr. and Skidmore) last June, living now just down the road from the Lyme Inn and commuting. We'll go across with them this summer for about ten weeks, renew friendships, etc. No itinerary, but probably it will take us from Normandy to Pamplona to the south of France, several places in Germany, perhaps as far as Prague, back to Paris, a little while in England. We never know until the night before. Bart has been accepted at the University of Durham. We've been in Hanover a few times the last couple of years. It's a nice drive once you get past Northampton."

Art D'Elia reports: "Thanks for your nice note. Still a G.P. in Harwichport, where I started practice in 1938. We have a small but active Dartmouth Club in Hyannis, meeting once a month. Am the only representative of 1929." ... A note from Larry Shirley: "Mary and I are still living on a farm in Goffstown, N. H., where the family has been since 1761. Fuss around town affairs some. I am chairman of the planning board in Goffstown, member of the Southern New Hampshire Planning Commission, have a retail lumber yard in Manchester, N. H. Daughter Nary (Mrs. Ethan Hoag), grand-daughter Lisa Hoag; daughter Constance, factoring department, First National Bank in Boston; son James '64, Master's in creative writing, now studying law."

Received an annual report from Johns Manville Corp., and Herb Ball is listed as vice president, general counsel, and secretary. Herb also writes that his oldest son Chipper has applied for admission at Dartmouth in September 1968. He was recently notified that he was a National Merit Scholarship finalist, and has achieved a very decent record at his father's old school, Mercersburg Academy.

Jack Yellin finally did it. In September 1966 he left the long line of bachelors and married Sheila, and in September 1967 she presented Jack with a lovely daughter Nancy Barbara. Shades of Nelson Rockefeller, and a Wah Hoo Wah for Dartmouth!

This from Hal Ripley: "You know I have been working on various jobs with John Brown Cook for 25 years and have been president of the Reliable Electric Company in Chicago. We have taken on as president and a director Bob Rodday '4O and Tuck School 1941 who has been a vice-president of American Enka and was running our Brand Rex Wire and Cable Co. in Willimantic, Conn. Our fourth director at Reliable is Win Rodormer '27. John's companies are scattered about enough to make it worth while for him to make his main headquarters now at Bel Air, Calif. As vice chairman of Reliable I am still working at Franklin Park, Ill., most of the time, and trying to arrange my affairs so I can get the 'Oracle Ill' down to Florida next winter. I expect to be working in the east enough to do a little cruising out of Monument Beach, Mass., again this summer. John and I get to the Whitney Blake Co. in New Haven enough so we should have a chance to say hello some time."

Nelson Bell contributes: "Just got your enterprising post card. Carolyn and I are off on the 20th to Europe until May 26; the usual London and Paris, but also places like Split, Dubrovnik, Belgrade, Budapest, and Prague. Most of it will be done in a VW which we will bring back at the end of the tour. But before starting out I called Truiikie to make sure of our reservations at Shady Lawn (other twenty niners please take notice). Had dinner with people last night just back from Hanover, who report that the redone Inn is terrific." From sunny Texas Cal Soriero pens: "there ain't no news. I'm still in the process of converting from insurance to raising Brangus cattle on Rocky Creek Farm, Round Top, Texas. All I can say is that it is great fun, invigorating physically, and debilitating financially. We hope to see you in 1969". . . this from John Ball: "Getting very ancient; still with Genesco Inc. of Nashville, Tenn.; Assistant secretary Genesco, vice president Genesco Sales Corp. Colonel USAFR (retired). Three children, two married - three grandchildren, eleven came to visit last week. Have seen a rare Dartmouth alumnus occasionally in these parts, but no classmate for years."

Bill Morgan says that he has moved from Rumson, N. J., to Middletown, N. J., and who cares? We most certainly do, Bill!... Stan Piatt reports that his investment counseling business (Piatt, Tschudy & Co., Inc.) continues to grow. "Our second generation also continues to grow (four grandchildren). The world continues to grow more troubled and dangerous for lack of more active cooperation through more effective international organizations. We need leadership. 'Rocky' could be our best bet to provide the leadership needed, so let us persuade him and help him."

Al Downing tells us that he and Marie have a double purpose in visiting Kentucky, "as our daughter Susan is a freshman at Transylvania College in Lexington nearby our Blue Grass Farm. As a horse lover this is an ideal spot for her. We are looking forward to another informal reunion this fall in Hanover, and hope to see you there."

Personal note: Meemee and I announce that our daughter Laurie will be married to Steve Nassau (Yale and the Cornell Law School) on June 30. That leaves an empty house.

Jack Yellin '29, a confirmed bacheloruntil his 1966 marriage, displays daughter Nancy Barbara, born last September.
