When Electra and I took off for Montreal and the trans Canada railroad trip in August, I carefully tucked Paul Hanlon's address and telephone number in Portland, Ore., in the travel folder. When we arrived in Portland from Vancouver; B.C., we gave Paul a call three times, but got no answer. It wasn't until Eddie O'Brien's September newsletter arrived that we learned that while we were visiting on the Pacific coast, Paul was visiting on the Atlantic coast. A call to Portland from Concord confirmed it. He traveled crosscountry to see daughters in Boston and Hyannis, Mass., and a lawyer son in New York. Paul reports that while on Cape Code he spent some time with Bud Miskell and Doc Fielding.

Jim Heenehan writes from New York that when his construction firm took on the job of enlarging the meeting room at Greenwich Hospital in Greenwich, Conn., he looked up Dr. Forbes Delaney who is director of radiology there. Jim greeted the distinguished doctor by his nickname, "Koo." At that, Jim reports, Koo's two receptionists "broke into gleeful laughter." Jim says Koo "speaks of approaching retirement with something akin to pleasure."

When Eddie O'Brien took a week-long computer course at Hanover during the summer, one of his coursemates was Bill Maeck, up from Connecticut, and another was Dave Thurston '72, son of Connie and Mike Thurston. It seems computer technology reigns supreme on the campus. The Alumni Magazine is newly computerized, and so the deadline for copy has been extended by two weeks. Also, it takes the Alumni Office longer to crank out a mailing since its computer system was revamped.

Marge and Fred Stockwell have moved into their new home in Grantham, N.H., not far from Eastman where Margo and Frank Hartmann have moved permanently. Frank is planning to tour the amateur golf circuit from his new base. And speaking of Eastman, Ed Lider was chairman of a pro-am golf match at that resort community. Among the participants were Fred Stockwell and Dick Proctor, who lives in Florida but spent most of the summer in New England.

John Koslowski entered a golf tournament at the Belmont, Mass., Country Club and found himself pitted against classmate Bill Glovsky, who won the match. But Bill and the Koz teamed up for Belmont's memberguest tournament and walked away with third honors.

For those who didn't notice, it was Rod Wolbarst who wrote Al Holzhauer's obituary in the May issue of the Alumni Magazine. Rod wrote me from Jackson, Miss., that he was a close friend of Al's in college and had maintained contact with him over the years. Rod wrote the obituary from material sent to him from California by Al's widow, Bea.
