Congratulations to Bob and Anne Butts on the birth of their first child, daughter Lela, in July. Bob doesn't sound too worn out despite nighttime feedings and a busy schedule at Guernsey, Butts, and Walsh law offices in Poughkeepsie, N. Y. He worked in Albany for the New York State Urban Development Office until 1978 when he returned to his hometown to practice law. Bob says he is active, interviewing College applicants from the Hudson Valley region. He mentioned that he attended Dave Bustard's wedding in the fall of 'B3 to Elaine Stiriz. Dave also prac- tices law, working for RKO General in New York, and lives in Mt. Kisco. Bob also runs into Ken Page, who practices law for Coudert Brothers in New York and lives in Mt. Kisco. Sounds like we should plan a mini-reunion for Mt. Kisco!
Thanks to Dick Wiebusch for writing a newsy letter outlining Bill Green's recent accomplishments. Bill completed a doctorate in religion for Jacob Neusner at Brown and has been teaching at the University of Rochester. Having developed the concept of a cross-disciplinary religion and classics department, Bill was named chairman last year. This year Bill was named editor of the Journal of the American Academy of Religion; this is especially noteworthy since he is the youngest person ever so honored. Bill's wife, Rebecca Fox, is dean of William Smith College in Geneva, N.Y. They have a ten-month-old son, Noah.
Dick Wiebusch notes that he practices law in Manchester, N.H., for Sheehan, Phinney, Bass, and Green. He and his wife Margaret keep busy restoring older homes and raising a family of three girls. In contrast to the Butts, the Wiebuschs have a daughter, Kim, who is a high school senior and looking at colleges.
Ed Heald has been promoted by A.G. Ed- wards and Sons, a St. Louis-based brokerage and investment banking firm, to associate vice president. Ed entered investment banking in 1970 with Burbank and Company, which merged with A.G. Edwards in 1982. He manages the Wellesley Hills, Mass., office of the firm. Ed his wife Sue have two sons, Andrew and Timothy, and reside in Carlisle, Mass.
Hope to see many of you in Hanover this fall. I'll report on the executive committee meeting in next month's column.
