Postcards were mailed to the Colorado mailing list, headlined: "Announcing the New Revised Stag Picnic." For many years the Club has scheduled a late summer picnic, honoring the incoming freshmen and undergraduates, held at the Ned Grant Ranch south of Denver.
Again this year—same delightful location, Softball in the pasture, plenty of beer, plenty of barbeque. Noticeable differences from past picnics: an equal amount of soda pop in the ice tubs; fifty excited small fry all over the place; athletic shapes of the Softball players, grads vs. undergrads; one of the freshman-to-be, a charming young lady.
Picnic promoter was the new Club president, Bob Halbert '59. Picnic veterans Bob Montgomery '56 and Pete Wells '63 put the show together. The event was scheduled on an early September Saturday afternoon rather than the customary week day. It was good to see a number of longtime members whom we haven't seen for some time. In addition to the kids running around, a hundred alums, wives, and those ready for Hanover, enjoyed a fine afternoon.
