I recently attended a Dartmouth Club of Rhode Island dinner, where we shared good food and conversation with members of classes from 1932 to 1997. The evening once again reminded me of the very special place that is Dartmouth, and how strong our ties can be, providing learning and friendship long after graduation. And thanks to all those people who have endeavored to keep me up to date with news!
A timely missive from Anne Schnader Jones revealed she's been busy since graduation. Anne married classmate Greg Jones, and the pair reside in Lexington, Mass., with daughter Victoria 4, son Sam 1, and dog Rosie. Greg finished his first year of law school at Boston University, and Anne enters the doctoral program in business administration there this fall. Of her teaching experience, she comments, "It's been pretty wild (and fun!) to be up in front of all those 20-year-olds."
Anne also reported she Partied the night away in New York City at Elizabeth Weidberg's bachelorette party. Fellow Partiers included KK McMahon Bochman and a pregnant Anne Eldridge. (Anne, anything to report?) Sally Dunn is back home in Philadelphia, Pa., with Smith Kline.
Tom Palisi lauded fellow Rutgers Law student Laura Korfmann in a recent e-mail memo. He congratulates Laura for having been named editor-in-chief of the Computer and Technology Law Journal for the next year. Tom summered in N.Y.C. as an associate for an intellectual-property firm. David Huang is also in the City, where he is a graphic artist, having fled the corporate world in Los Angeles to study graphic arts in Paris.
Mary McArtor Reynolds wrote of her wedding to Tim Reynolds '85 last September on Maryland's Eastern Shore. Holly Bowen was among the Dartmouth types in attendance. Mary and Tim met during our Freshman Week, which she gently reminded me was more than ten years ago. The Reynoldses live and work in Pittsburgh. Tim is practicing as a corporate attorney for a large law firm downtown, while Mary trains for a management position at Talbot's.
Try and make it to a football game this fall. Wonder at the turning leaves and cheer on the Big Green.
Let me remind you that you too can send me e-mail via Dartmouth. The address at the Alumni Magazine is . So no more excuses about not having a stamp!
