Dennis M. Young, director of economic development at the National Urban League in New York City, is one of 43 outstanding American professionals chosen for Group V of the W.K. Kellogg Foundation's National Fellowship Program. The program, now in its fifth year, intends to help the nation expand its bank of capable leaders by increasing the participants' skills and insights into areas outside their chosen disciplines, so they can deal more creatively and effectively with society's complex problems. After graduation, Dennis earned his law degree from the University of San Diego and studied at the University of East Africa, Nairobi, Kenya. Dennis's work with the National Urban League is to analyze current and future economic trends and then design and develop longterm programs to serve the League's 114 affiliates.

My predecessor, Mark Schleicher, has resigned his post as group manager of Arrow Electronic's electronic distribution division. Mark joined the White River Junction firm in 1973 and was responsible for nine operating locations in New York, Vermont, and New Hampshire. He plans to serve as a consultant for Arrow until the end of the year and to devote more time to other business interests and personal matters.

William J. Kneisel, along with siblings Peter '72, Pamela '76, and Elizabeth, has established a scholarship in honor of their parents, Dr. John J. Kneisel '34 and Ann H. Kneisel. The scholarship will aid Dartmouth students planning a medical career and will be awarded every two years to a student at the beginning of junior year. The Kneisel family's Dartmouth roots run deep. Dr. Kneisel recently celebrated the 50th anniversary of his Dartmouth graduation, and although his daughter Elizabeth did not attend Dartmouth (she was pre-coeducation),. she was a member of the administration for three years.

While participating in the Alumni Fund telethon last June, I talked with Clark Doran's wife Karen. Clark is head of planning and transportation at Bally's Park Place Casino in Atlantic City,.N.J. I'm sure he wouldn't mind if you dropped in and took a chance with lady luck. However, one piece of news that Karen gave me caused me to reach for the Geritol. Their daughter, Christy, has just completed her first year at Wellesley College. Obviously, Clark and Karen have a unique situation, but nonetheless, it serves as a reminder that tempus fugit. Indeed it has and does! Take care and write.
