With the charming weather that we in the area of New England were enjoying, there has been little urge, it seems, to start the annual migration to Florida. As you know, there are a few like John Tuck who have found the long trip back and forth too fatiguing and so are staying the year around in Florida. In the matter of health, I'm sorry to have to say that "Elsie" Grover and CharlieBrooks have made little if any improvement. Our continued sympathy goes to these devoted men and to their loyal wives, Marion and Jessie, in these trying days.
We have been encouraged to know that Stanley ("Tub") Besse had been improving in spirit and health after his removal to a comfortable nursing home to be nearer to his devoted nephew Irvin K. Besse '34 and Polly, Irvin's wife. Our hopes for Tub were suddenly dashed; he died September 14. For further facts about his interesting career, look under In Memoriam in this or a later number of this MAGAZINE.
It is good to be able to report that HildaWhite stayed only briefly in the hospital. "Cy" wrote that she was improving. They are fortunate to have secured the services of a reliable practical nurse for nights, also a satisfactory day housekeeper.
