As recently reported in The Boston Globe, former U.S. senator Paul Tsongas, a Lowell native who worked closely with Wang Laboratories to transform the city into a booming high technology center, was elected to that computer company's board of directors. "Paul brings 15 years of experience in elected office to the board," said An Wang, whose experience with Paul dates back to Paul's days as a Lowell city councilman. "Not only was he largely instrumental to our decision to expand in Lowell, but he has been a supporter of industry in Massachusetts throughout his elective career." Paul has also been elected director of Boston Edison and is a partner with Foley, Hoag, and Eliot, a Boston law firm. The class wishes Paul success in his new endeavors.

Class president Josh Rich recently received the third annual report of the Class of 1962 Faculty Fellowship Committee, consisting of Sandy Apgar, Gary Spiess, and Dan Tompkins. The committee unanimously recommended assistant professor Lev Loseff of the department of Russian for the 1984 Class of 1962 Faculty Fellowship. More details will be included in next month's column.
