Congratulations to Tom Komarek,who has recently agreed to fill Ross Burkhardt's unexpired term as newsletter editor, as Ross recently stepped down due to other activities. Tom, assistant secretary of labor in Washington, D.C., was pleased to receive about 40 replies as a result of the May newsletter and requests that those of you who have not written in for some time please do so.

John Wilkinson was able to join the faculty fellowship committee at the third annual presentation luncheon at the Dartmouth Outing Club May 17, 1985, honoring Professor Lev Loseff. We were pleased that President McLaughlin and Dean C. Dwight Lahr could be among the guests. More on this subject in next month's issue.

Social chairman Gene Gasbarro has planned a mini-reunion for November 1-3, the weekend of the Yale game. All classmates who order tickets to that game will receive a bulletin with all the details. The highlight will be the class dinner Saturday evening at Pierces' Inn, based upon the great turnout last year in Quechee. Yale President A. Bartlett Giamatti recently announced Paul Tsongas's election to a post on the school's governing body. Paul, who is now an attorney in private practice with the Boston firm of Foley, Hoag, and Eliot, lives in his native Lowell, Mass., where his political rise started. His six-year term began July 1. In addition, Paul also received the Citation of

Merit medal from Yale Law School along with U.S. Senators John Danforth, Gary Hart, and Arlen Specter.

Jeff Reinert recently wrote that his daughter, Jennifer '84, married David Townsend '81 in Boston on May 18. Jeff added that 35 Dartmouth alums added character to the reception at the Boston Harvard Club.

Nitya Pibulsonggram recently provided this update: after serving four years in NYC at the Thai Permanent Mission to the UN, the last year as deputy permanent representative, he returned to Bangkok, Thailand, in 1980. He then served successively as deputy spokesman, foreign ministry, and deputy director-general, political affairs. He reached the last grade of Thai foreign service in 1982 when he was appointed ambassador-atlarge and since 1983 has been director general, international organizations, department of foreign ministry. He expects to be in Bangkok another year before going abroad as ambassador for the first time. Nitya and wife Patricia would be pleased to welcome any classmates passing through, as would Jay Pearson, the only other '62 at present in Bangkok.

Quick notes: John Walters represented Dartmouth at the inauguration of Robert Donaldson as fourth president of Fairleigh Dickinson in New Jersey on March 29.
