As I sit here at Sugarbush Ski Area, with beautiful snow and perfect 25-degree temperatures, I'm being reminded that vacations often take prolonged planning. Bill Farrier suggests that classmates consider a Dartmouth 'seminar this year. He writes that he attended the Alumni College seminars on China and on the Spanish conquest of the Incas and Aztecs at Timberlake Lodge, Mt. Hood, and enjoyed them. He is currently working for Social Security in Richmond, Calif.

Wayne Wadhams spent the fall designing and building the Berklee College Music and Production Engineering Department. Wayne built six studios with automation, video interlock, and 24-track capabilities! He notes this facility is the largest production facility in the northeast and the largest college complex anywhere. Wayne is also busy teaching several record production courses. Last summer Wayne visited Athens, Greece, where he designed and developed Sierra Studio's second 24-track facility.

Rick Pabst writes that he apprenticed out from his Buckley, Wash., horse farm last summer, learning carpentry in order to build a sl-million sales barn to stable their horses prior to sale. Harking back to his Dartmouth heritage, he taught his six-year-old, Miranda, to canoe last summer; they completed the 100-mile Bouron Lake Chain in British Columbia.

Congratulations to Bob Reich and ClareDalton on the birth of Sam, born July 22, 1984. He joins a brother, Adam, born in March 1981.

Not to be outdone, Steve Goldthwait and wife Merritt have a new son, Sander, who joins sister Sarah.

John Pheiffer's family, wife Cathy and child ren Lucy (eight), Ellen (five), and Jack (five months), took a summer road trip, camping through the Midwest while retracing the sites of Laura Ingalls Wilder's Little House on thePrairie books. The girls had read the books over the two years leading up to this 5,000m ile pilgrimage. High points were the Wilder Pageant in Walnut Grove, Minn., and the week-long festival in DeSinet, S.D.

Please help our class meet its Dartmouth Alumni Fund goals!
